Residents laud infrastructural projects, as Obaseki intensifies work on Siluko Road

Residents of Edo State have commended the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration, for keeping to his promise of delivering durable infrastructural projects to improve livelihoods in the state.

Contractors handling infrastructural projects were busy at different sites when journalists went around Benin metropolis to inspect the projects.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, explained that ongoing infrastructural projects in Benin metropolis are part of renewed drive by the state government to deliver on its promise on urban renewal.

He said the Obaseki-led administration is making sure that the COVID-19 pandemic in the state does not hinder ongoing projects, as the state readies for a post- coronavirus (COVID-19) era.

Meanwhile, residents of Siluko Road described the spots improvement/sectional overlay on the road as timely and commendable.

Stanley Asemota said, “It is commendable that the state government is not taking any chance in ensuring that it delivered on road projects despite the COVID-19 pandemic in the state. The rehabilitation work on Siluko Road will ease vehicular movement and improve socio-economic activities when people return back to their normal daily activities.”

A resident of Otete Road, off Textile Mill Road, in Egor Local Government Area, Odemwingie Matthew, said the massive construction project in the area is promise-kept by the governor to the people.

“I am impressed with the quality of construction work ongoing in the area. The governor promised to deliver on the project and with the pace of work being done here, I am confident that the governor will see to the completion of the project. This area has suffered much neglect by past governments. We are grateful to Governor Obaseki,” he added.
