…commiserates with Alhaji Shagadi over wife’s loss

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has paid a condolence visit to the Okaigesan of Esanland, His Royal Highness, Williams Okoeguale Momodu II, over the demise of his senior wife, late Hajia Elekhia Momodu.

While sympathising with the traditional ruler, the governor said, “I felt the appropriate thing to do now that I am around is to personally pay a condolence visit over the unfortunate incident. On behalf of the people of Edo state, we ask you to accept our condolences.”

Obaseki prayed to God to grant the traditional ruler the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Responding to the governor, the Okaigesan of Esanland, the traditional ruler expressed appreciation to the governor for the visit, noting that he had earlier received a condolence letter from the governor.

He prayed that God will continue to protect the governor, adding, “You have been a governor for years, the second stage is coming up, we wish you good luck. We have been watching your works in the state, may God bless you.”

The governor was also at the residence of Edo North leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Auchi, Alhaji Usman Shagadi, over the demise of his wife, Hajiya Beatrice Usman Shagadi.

He consoled with the family and prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed.
