IOM donates office work stations, other items to Edo Innovation hub

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has donated work stations and some office items to Edo Innovation Hub, in Benin City, the state capital.

Items donated are three office ergonomic chairs, eight work-stations, one glass wall board, one 1.5 horse power air conditioner and one M425DN printer.

The Edo Innovation hub is an initiative of Governor Godwin Obaseki administration, focused on providing job and business development opportunities for young Edo residents through Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The Project Officer at International Organisation for Migration, Wintana Tarekegn, while delivering the items, noted: “I am very excited to be here. We are donating the items to Edo Innovation hub, which will help to enhance the productivity of this center.”

“These items will benefit migrants, vulnerable persons, women and other parties in the society,” she added.

In her remarks, the Managing Director of Edo State Skill Development Agency, Mrs. Ukinebo Dare, commended IOM and other partners involved in the donation.

“I want to appreciate all the partners that have made this possible today; this centre was set up by Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.

“It is aimed at providing young people in Edo with a place of positive expression, exploring their career growth through Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and achieving their entrepreneurship goals through ICT.

“These donations that we are receiving today from IOM are going to make tangible impacts in the lives of Edo youths and we like to say thank you,” Dare noted.
