COVID-19: Foundation rallies behind Edo govt, stocks food bank to provide palliatives to vulnerable households

A Non-Government Organisation (NGO), Rosula Foundation, has thrown its weight behind the Edo State Government’s effort to provide succor to vulnerable households in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the state.

A representative of the foundation, Aiyamenkhue Edokpolo, who addressed journalists at the Rosula Foundation Food Bank in Benin City, said the foundation’s founder, Princess Mrs. Rosemary Osula-Atu, is passionate about the plight of vulnerable households in the state and has decided to complement the effort of the state government in ameliorating the impact of COVID-19 in the state.

The items at the foundation’s Food Bank include bags of rice, grandiose pap, beans, garri, noodles, beans flour, semovita, and custard, among others.

He said, “Rosula Foundation Food Bank is set up to give palliatives to Edo people across the 192 wards across Edo State. The idea is to meet the needs of the vulnerable and the needy in society to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic.

“The founder of the foundation acknowledges that the state government has done a lot in this regard and wishes to complement this effort. We are in support of the government. We are fully collaborating with the government to help Edo people. This would help to assist the needy, vulnerable persons and the poor in the society.”
