Coronavirus: Ambrose Alli Varsity boosts Edo govt’s response with 5,000 reusable facemasks

The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has donated 5000 reusable and washable facemasks to the Edo State Government, as a contribution to the state’s campaign against the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ignatius Onimawo, who was represented by the Director, Center for Entrepreneurial/Career Studies, AAU, Ekpoma, Engr. Prof. Osadolor Odia, presented the materials to the Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq. at Government House, Benin City, on Friday.

Prof. Onimawo said the materials were donated in support of the state government’s effort to rid the state of COVID-19, noting that the facemasks are convenient to use.

According to him, “The facemasks were produced at Ambrose Alli University by the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. We have changed the image of the school in the last few years and it now ranks highly among its peers in Nigeria.”

The Head of Service, Mr Okungbowa, expressed appreciations to the university for responding to the governor’s plea for everyone to be part of the state’s fight against COVID-19.

He reiterated that the fight against COVID-19 is a collective one that must not be left only for government, adding, “We are actually in a war situation. Everybody must put their hands on deck to make the fight against COVID-19 a lot easier for us all.”
