WORKERS WELFARE: REBRANDING THE PUBLIC SERVICE TO BUILD HAPPY, PROACTIVE
AND PROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL FOR SPEEDY AND QUALITY SERVICE DELIVERY.

* Increased the minimum wage of workers in the state from N6, 500 to N9,050.

* Maintains a regular payment of salaries and pensions not later than 30th of
every month.

* Regularly carries out promotion of workers.
Provided brand new cars to Permanent Secretaries, (the first of its kind in the State)

* Procured 50 utility vehicles for Ministries and Parastatals.

* Purchased 100 computer units and 50 photocopying machines for Government
Establishments.

* All categories of workers are presently undergoing computer education.

* Approves regularly sponsorship of workers to various training programmes within and
outside the country.

* Provided One Billion Naira (N1 billion) guaranteed welfare loan package to
workers in the post primary.

* Guaranteed worker’s welfare loan of over Ten Billion Naira (N10 billion) to enable
workers Purchase their personal vehicles and own houses.

* Approves 15% wage increase to workers with effect from 1st July, 2008.

COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY

* The ailing Bendel Brewery Limited has been provided a life-line of N100 million.
* The Wood Utilisation Centre has been provided with better operations mode for efficiency.
* This has been equipped with training facilities for manpower capacity building.
* N99 million has been released for the completion of the Cassavita Factory at Uromi.
* A 500 KVA transformer has been installed, while the delivery of a weigh bridge and new steam boiler are being expected for cassava factory, Uromi..
* The State TCPC has been strengthened to facilitate its operations.
* State delegation has been sponsored to International Trade Fairs and Exhibitions.

INFORMATION /ICT

* Governor Osunbor's administration provided a brand-new 350 KVA Perkins Generator for EBS.
* Four (4) new Digital video cameras were also supplied to EBS.
* Six (6) Editing Machines supplied to EBS.
* 52 members of staff were promoted.
* Thirty (30) tons of Newsprint supplied BNCL.
* Provided computers for Ministries/Parastatals and Government Offices in a drive to eliminate use of typwriters.
* Provided VSAT for internet connectivity in government.
* Created state website on Federal Government domain and PORTALS as platform for online services
