Queen Emotan Statue
This statue built by J.A. Danford, a former western regional Director, commemorate her heroic deeds during the reign of Oba Ewuare. The statute is till standing as a monument in her memory till date around the City square.

The royal palace constitutes the heart of historic folklore from Benin history, a lot of which are encaptured in arts and crafts such as Ebony and ivory carvings. The architectural masterpiece that today stands as the Oba’s palace is significant historic milestone in the state.
National Museum
The museum built by a one time administration of Bendel State is advantageously located at the King’s Square, Benin City featuring artifacts of the Benin court, and Benin history.
Igun Bronze Casters
Bronze carving is particularly renowned in Benin-City. This used to be the exclusive reserve of the king in terms of ownership, but with time, are made for private collection. Part of the carvings include the “Festac 77” mascot.
Ogiamen’s Residence
The Ogiamen’s residence is another architectural masterpiece, the residence itself contains carvings, bronze and works of great cultural significance.
The Moat
The Benin Moat is currently the largest hand-made earthwork without the
aid of any technological device. It is the most historical landmark encircling the city. It is believed that the moat was constructed for defense purpose around the 13th century.
Ogba Zoo
The Ogba zoological garden is renowned for the presence of local and other species of wildlife which are not easily found other parts of the country today. The Ogba zoological garden is in the process of expansion as a way of developing ecosystem and tourism
potential in the State. The expansion project will allow for tourist attraction which will of course extend to wider areas of potential interest. Foreigners are also being encouraged to participate in the development of the zoo as investors.
