AC chieftain chides Orbih
The alarm raised by the Chairman of Anenih’s faction of the People’s Democratic Party in Edo state, Chief Dan Orbih has been described as a chant of a drowning man.
Chief Orbih had in National newspapers of Tuesday, February 2, accused Edo State Government of raising the debt profile from N4.4 billion to N 18.5 billion, just in one year.
Reacting to the allegation, Chief Evelyn Igbafe, Director Poverty Alleviation Agency, Edo State and a chieftain of the Action Congress chided Chief Orbih’s analysis of the debt profile and described it as a chorus from a man who has no experience as to how government business is run.
She wondered how a man who was a first member of the Board of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that was dissolved due to financial impropriety could come to equity with his hands unclean.
She therefore called on Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to dust its file on the NNPC to bring the culprits indicted in the corporation board sales on former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Chief Igbafe posited that Edo State Government through its Commissioner for Finance made the disclosure of the debt profile to the representative of the people which therefore translates that the Government that nothing to hide.
She maintained that Comrade Oshiomhole is irrevocably committed to good governance and the fulcrum of good governance is transparency which was demonstrated by the action of the Commissioner of Finance adding that the issue of deceit as canvassed by Chief Orbih doesn’t arise at all.
The Lagos High Chief reminded the people of the State that the problem in the People’s Democratic Party in Edo State is cause by on the imposition of Chief Dan Orbih on the party by Chief Anenih and she wondered why Chief Orbih wants the good people of Edo State to believe him, when he has refused to ask his godfather why he revoked a major road contract linking Anegbette to other cities in his local government area, awarded earlier by Admiral Mike Akhigbe, as Chief of General Staff.
