Another Edo PDP chieftain decamps to ACN

Edo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) weekend suffered a major setback with the decamping of a member of the National Executive Committee, Barrister Henry Idahagbon and hundreds of his followers to the Action Congress of Nigeria, in Benin City.

Speaking at the event, Hon Idahagbon, a former Commissioner for Lands and Survey eulogized the Governor Oshiomhole for his determined attempt to transform Edo State in all facets of life.

Oshiomhole congratulates Tambuwal

Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has heartily congratulated the new Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri-Tambuwal over his keenly contested election, charging him to be sensitive to the growing national concerns about the huge cost of governance.

In a letter of congratulation issued in Benin City, the governor who was elated at Tambuwal’s emergence said, “Your election is a resounding affirmation of confidence in your leadership qualities by your colleagues across political parties”.

In his capacity as the Visitor to the Ambrose Alli University, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has directed Prof Cordelia Agbebaku to act as the Vice Chancellor of the University pending the appointment of a substantive Vice Chancellor.

Prof Agbebaku, Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University takes over from Prof Sam Uniamikogbo who was relieved of his appointment by the Governor who is the Visitor to the University.

NCP denounces Army partisanship

Edo State branch of the National Conscience Party (NCP) has strongly denounced the partisanship of the Army deployed to Otuo in Owan East Local Government Area of the state, saying that it poses grave danger to Nigeria’s cohesion.

In a press statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Victor Edward Ogba and Secretary, Maxwell Amen Iyamu, the NCP condemned what it perceived as the indiscriminate and politically motivated arrests of 41 persons in the area with the tacit connivance of the security forces.

Oshiomhole did not threaten anyone

Our attention has been drawn to a press conference held today in Benin City by a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain, Mr Lucky Imasuen in which he alleged that the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole threatened his life at an Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) rally held recently in Okada, Ovia North East.

Oshiomhole eulogises aides at valediction

Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was full of praises for his outgoing aides at their valedictory Executive Council meeting which took place at Government House, Benin City yesterday.

Contrary to insinuations in some section of the media that are almost gloating in sensational and misleading headlines, there’s nothing abnormal about the resignations and shedding off of some commissioners as part of the on-going cabinet changes and reshuffle being undertaken by Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Oshiomhole re-registers, salutes people’s resolve

Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole at the weekend, registered for his voters registration card again due to a fault in the Direct Data Capture Machine DDC which was experienced on the first few days of the exercise just as a petition has been written against the Electoral Officer in Uromi for using the children of Peoples Democratic Party PDP members to function as registration officers.
