Over One thousand persons, including a former Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Mr Jeff Oshiomogho at the weekend decamped to the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria from the PDP in Ogbonna, Etsako Central Local Government Area.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Oshiomogho said he decided to join the ACN to join hands Governor Oshiomhole, whom he described as the best governor Edo State has ever had, in moving the state forward.

According to him “we are all seeing what he is doing. He has tried for Edo people. He is working in all the local government areas. If he can do this in four years what will he do in eight years?”

He explained “that is why I told my people to embrace the Action Congress of Nigeria. The era of the PDP is over. We are moving Ogbonna from opposition to position”.

In his remark the Chairman of ACN Edo State Hon. Thomas Okosun commended their decision to join the party.
He noted “ACN is a mass movement that is set to liberate the people of the state. It is poised to take the state to the next level. The era of sharing money and taking the people for a ride is over. The ACN has taken development to the 192 wards in the state”.

Receiving the new entrants, Governor Adams Oshiomhole said his mission in government was to redefine politics and bring governance to the door steps of the people.

According to him “the era of lies in politics are over. My message to everyone is that our politics has changed and changed forever. The days when people of no consequence use our names to rise to positions of power, collect the money and put in their pockets are over, while the lives of the people are going down.

“In three years that I have been in office I can say to Ogbonna people I brought you water. I renovated your schools, hospitals and did roads”, he added.
Oshiomhole declared “we want to play politics of development. Everything the PDP says is impossible, we say they are possible”.

He assured that government would reduce poverty in the state by using government resources for the development of the people.
