SHUN ETHNIC, POLITICAL DIFFERENCES, OSUNBOR URGES EDO PEOPLE

GOVERNOR Oserhiemen Osunbor of Edo State has urged people of the state to jettison ethnic, political and religious differences so that the state would witness accelerated development.

In his Christmas message to the people of the state, the governor declared that the state was bigger than any individual, therefore there is need for everybody to sink their differences and assist government in rebuilding the state.

While thanking the people of the state for the support given to his administration so far, the governor assured of his commitment to the welfare of the people of the state, asserting that "my administration has come to make a difference in the life of every son and daughter of Edo State."

He said, "in the past seven months, we have witnessed a lot of development in virtually every sector in the state, with particular reference to roads, welfare of workers and pensioners, rural electricity, provision of pipe-borne water. We have restored hope to our people and rekindled the confidence of the populace in democratic governance.

"All I ask of our people now is unity and continued support. Let us forget the past and the disappointments and failure of the past and sink our ethnic, political and religious differences in the overriding interest of our beloved state. Edo State is bigger than any single individual. We all have our respective roles to play in the task of rebuilding the state. I assure you of greater development and commitments to the welfare of our people," he stated.
