EVBUOMWAN IZIENGBE A.

Evbuomwan Iziegbe A. is the Honorable Commissioner for Youths and Sports in Edo State. She was born in Benin City and attended the Oba Akenzuwa Primary School, Idia College all in Benin City. Then she proceeded to the University of Benin where she got a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Physics. She next acquired a certificate in Computer Studies from the Knightgold Computer School in Port-Harcourt. Before returning back to the University of Benin where she got a Masters degree in Exploration Geophysics. Prior to her appointment, she was an Assistant Lecturer in the department of Physics at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

Directorate of Youth & Sports Development responsibilities includes:

	To evolve, implement and monitor the implementation of policies and programme necessary for the guidance of youth in their all-round development;
	To utilize sporting activities as a means of solving some of the social ills of the nation;
	To encourage sporting activities among the disabled in order to make life more meaningful to them;
	To provide the required sporting facilities in order to enhance better performance;
	To provide camping facilities for sportsmen and sportswomen of Edo State thereby reducing cost and hotel expenses;
	To provide opportunities for encouraging traditional sports with a view to upgrading them for national and international competitions;
	To promote professionalism and self-reliance in sports as a means of achieving perfection in competition sports national and internationally;
	Directorate of Youth Development is charged with the responsibilities for:
	Youth Registration and Development;
	Development of Youth Skill Acquisition Centers and Poverty Eradication Programme;
	Youth Clubs;
	Children and Youth Day Celebration.
