Commissioners - Oshiomhole Sends List to Assembly
Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on Tuesday 12th of January, forwarded three names as commissioners designate to the Edo State House of Assembly for approval.
The names are Barr. Anslem Ojezua, Dr. Cordelia Aiyowieren-Awize and Barr. Lucas Okojie who are to occupy the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Transport portfolios.
In September last year, three members of the Peoples Democratic Party who were serving as commissioners in Oshiomhole's administration had resigned their positions.
The commissioners then were Barr. Vincent Akhere who was in the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Fidelis Oriafo who was in the Ministry of Transport and Mrs. Sera Adetugboboh who was in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry had cited personal reasons for their resignation.
It was however learnt that they left after due pressure from the leadership of the PDP following the strained father and son relationship between Chief Tony Anenih and Oshiomhole.
Oshiomhole in a letter he personally signed and dated January 5, addressed to the Speaker of the assembly said, "I would be most obliged if the Honourable House could kindly facilitate their expedited confirmation. Herewith are 30 copies of the curriculum vitae of each of the nominees".
