Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has commiserated with the family of late  All Progressives Congress (APC) women leader in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State, Mrs. Comfort Idahosa.

The governor, during a condolence visit to the family in Benin City, Edo State, said, “The death of Mrs. Idahosa is painful and a loss for me. My relationship with her was that of mother and son when she was alive. I have lost a mother and great leader in Mrs. Idahosa. She played the role of a mother to many of us.”

Obaseki added that late Mrs. Idahosa lived a good life and always supported him with prayers during the election.

He urged children of the deceased to uphold the legacy of their late mother whose stance on freedom and justice was known to everyone who had contact with her, adding, “She was a strong-willed woman especially about what she believed in. I encourage you to be steadfast in keeping her legacy. Always support the cause of freedom and justice.”

“Even as we mourn her death, we thank God for the quality of leadership she provided in her local government and the state. She will be remembered for what she stood for during her life time,” Obaseki said.

The first son of late Mrs. Idahosa, Mr. Charles Idahosa, who spoke for the family, expressed appreciation to the governor and his entourage for the visit, adding “The visit has encouraged us and other family members in this moment of grief. This for us means a lot.”
