RADICALLY REVAMPING AND DEVELOPING THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR FOR FOOD SUFFICIENCY, REVENUE GENERATION AND MASS EMPLOYMENT.

* Rural Roads and Water Supply for over 180,000 farming families in the state under Agricultural Development Programme at Ojirami, Usen, Okpella, Ikabigbo e.t.c.
* Revived Tree Seed Multiplication centers in Usen, Irrua and Sabongida-Ora
* Took delivery of 8,400 metric tones of fertilizers to be sold to farmers at subsidized rates for 2008 farming season * A total of 100 hectares of farmland being replaced by new improved clones in Farm Settlement
* Collated 3,617 farmers applications for the State Government Micro Credit Scheme
* Developed Fish Hatchery Complex with a Feed Mill at Okhuo Village to address problems of Fish Fingerlings/Brood Stock supply.
* Procured inputs and chemical distributed to Cocoa Farmers at 50% subsidy.
* Purchased 10 units of 75 Horse Power FOTONG Tractors for Agricultural Mechanization.
* Cultivated 200 hectares of land in Back to Land Programme. 2000 youths engaged at N5, 000 stipend
monthly. 50 hectares each in Obayantor, Usugbenu, Sabongida- Ora and Anegbette.

EDSOPADEC’s One Year of Purposeful Intervention

EDSOPADEC, as an agent for opening up the rural communities, has recorded tremendous achievements which include:
* Purchase and distribution of 200 motorcycles to Co-operatives in each of the Oil and Gas Producing Communities of the state.
* Construction and furnishing of Ultra-modern Police Station at Iguelaba to provide security for the border communities of Ugu Ward in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state and provided an operational vehicle.
* Construction of a block of six classrooms with VIP toilets at Ikobi in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state.
* Executed a small-scale water project at Otofure in Ikpoba - Okha Local Government Area.
* Purchase and distribution of Fishing nets, 16 Boats and other fishing materials to riverine communities of Ikpoba - Okha Local Government Area.
* Purchase of five 500 KVA Electricity Transformers to oil bearing communities.
* Purchase and supply of school furniture and hospital materials to Gele-Gele in Ovia North East Local Government Area.
* Construction of two blocks of five flats (staff quarters) at Ughoton in Ovia North - East LGA to enable teachers and health workers stay and work in the rural community.
* Construction and equipping of a Modern Health Centre at Obagie Nokenkpo in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.
* Renovation of Obanokhoro Health Centre along with the provision of borehole and a generating set in Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
* Procurement and distribution of writing materials to public schools in Oil Producing Communities to aid teaching and learning.
