JONATHAN PLEDGES TO TACKLE EDO EROSION PROBLEM

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has condemned the kidnap of four journalists, in Abia State, saying it is unfortunate that journalists who are the conscience of the people are being targeted by the same people for whom they are putting their lives on the line.

Lamenting the failure of security agencies to track down the kidnappers, four days after the incident, Oshiomhole said there is the urgent need for security agencies to quickly swing into action and stop the spread of the menace which is spreading through country.

He however said the fight against kidnappers can only be won when the people stop shielding them from the long arms of the law.

Said he: “the people have a big role to play in the fight against kidnapping and other vices. These evil crimes will stop when the people stop providing a safe haven for kidnappers and other criminals. This will greatly help the security agencies in providing the sane and safe society we all crave.”

He urged all Nigerians to pray for the safe return of the kidnapped journalists and stand together to fight the evil now before it turns into an unmanageable monster.
